A beautiful home in the south of portugal

An outdoor corner protected by a wooden roof calls for long hours of doing nothing.

This is the retreat of French interior designer Jacques Grange. The house is located in the south of Portugal, not far from the Atlantic Ocean. The kitchen (above) is simple (nothing hi-tech) with cupboards and wall cabinets. The blue and white tiles are typical Portuguese ceramic tiles.

Wood and straw are the main materials used for the house.

Inside the atmosphere is simple, but sophisticated. Grange: “It was fun to decorate with things from nothing”. There are touches of Africa and on the floors you can find Moroccan rugs. Throughout the house there is also a large collection of pottery and porcelain.

Eclectic swedish home

This eclectic interior has been featured on several blogs lately but I want to show it to you anyway, in case you haven’t seen it yet.

This beautiful Swedish home belongs to decorator Marie Olsson Nylander. The gorgeous desk was a bargain sale (why do I never find sales like this..). The lamp is designed by Marie herself.

I like the colorful accents which can be found through the entire house. The blue kitchen island was bought in Czech Republic.

A summer retreat in denmark

This little summer retreat is located in Solpletten, a small and charming garden society founded in 1942 situated in the middle of Søllerød Nature Reserve (Denmark) and facing beautiful forests

Henriette Willerup and Anton Greiffenberg are the owners of this lovely little haven ”Villa Else”. They make the most delicious jams during apple and plum picking season. I love have fruit trees in the garden. We have a pear, apple and cherry tree in our garden and hopefully they will give plenty of fruit to make jams, cakes and other yummie things

A summer house in the heart of paris

Designer Paola Navone has transformed a loft into a summer house in the heart of Paris, France. The designer has played with light and contrast in this large space. The stainless steel kitchen cabinets and appliances make a beautiful contrast with the whitewashed stone walls. A white canvas curtain separates the kitchen from the dining area

The rectangular table was made from planks that were painted gray and then drilled and stitched together with red string. Chinese chairs are painted in a beautiful shade of green.

Paola designed the huge white couch “Marocco” (top image) for Casa Milano. The white curtains in the bedroom (image below) hide a dressing room. I am loving the tiles in the bathroom and bedroom: such a gorgeous shade of blue!
